Blockhouse Point Conservation Park Trails
Description
This approximately 630-acre Park contains a variety of exceptional resources.
Natural features include mature upland forest, floodplain forest, palustrine wetlands, streams, river-rock outcrops, at least nine species of threatened, endangered, or watchlist plants, a diversity of wildlife and grand views of the Potomac River and C&O Canal.

Trail characteristics |
The majority or the trails are designated "hiking only". The rest are designated for "hiker/equestrian only" or "shared use-all." Biking in this Park is currently prohibited except for the the Muddy Branch Greenway Trail at the eastern edge of the park. Bikes are welcome on the C&O Canal towpath to the south which is owned and maintained by the National Park Service. |

Access and parking |
There are 2 gravel lots. Both are located along the south side of River Road. The larger lot can hold approximately 25 cars and two to three horse trailers. There is a park sign at the lot entrance and a kiosk located at the back of the lot with a map of the park's trails. A second, smaller, lot is located at the western edge of the park and will hold only a few cars. |
