Archaeology Program

Students help with a dig.The Department of Park's archaeology program identifies, manages, and interprets archaeological sites on parkland.

The program provides stewardship for Montgomery County's non-renewable archaeological resources and provides the opportunity for public participation in discovering and preserving our Montgomery County heritage.

Did you ever want to know what archaeologists do? M-NCPPC Archaeology Summer Workshop participants find out. You will be introduced to archaeology as you work side-by-side with Park Archaeologists on an archaeological site. Participants learn in a small group, hands-on setting.
