The conservatories will be filled with colorful chrysanthemums of all shapes and sizes in a fanciful and imaginative display depicting large animals. The south conservatory will feature a flowery Arctic scene including chrysanthemums trained into the form of a polar bear, wolf, walrus and other Arctic animals. In the north conservatory, the scene will resemble a warm grassland landscape, containing an 11 foot giraffe, and a lion, kangaroo and ostrich created out of chrysanthemum plants. This display of flowery fauna should be fun for the whole family.
NOTE: Peak bloom display will be in late October.
Brookside Gardens conservatories
The Conservatories at Brookside Gardens consist of two glass buildings joined by a short hallway. The Conservatories house a large collection of tropical plants including banana, giant bird of paradise, and mimosa as well as seasonal displays in the spring, summer, and autumn and a terrific holiday show. The Conservatories are often used for special programs, such as the spring Sculpture Show and live Butterfly Exhibit in summer.
