For the first time ever, the Montgomery County Department of Parks is offering the chance for one lucky teen to be a ParkStar .... on The Parks Show! The talent search is open to teens 14 through 17. Teens, if you’ve ever wanted to try a career in television, this is a great opportunity. One lucky winner will spend 12 days this summer writing, interviewing and hosting The Parks Show. The winner will work with us over the summer in all elements of television production and be on set to tape in July and August.

About the Talent Search
It works like this:
- Eligible teens, come to 1 of our 2 open auditions to try out for your chance to be the ParkStar, host of The Parks Show for a total of 12 days of work this summer.
- Teens, with your parents or guardians, complete the contest entry form and review the official contest rules and prize information for more on judging, eligibility and the conditions of participation. Bring the completed and signed entry form with you to one of the auditions. The auditions will be taped by The Parks Show producers and may be used in upcoming episodes.
- After the auditions, we’ll narrow down the competition to the top 5 ParkStar finalists and post the audition video online.
- Then Vote for the ParkStar! Vote online from May 1, 2008 through May 15, 2008. The highest online vote-getter gets the gig!
- Watch your favorite ParkStar on The Parks Show all summer long, three times daily on County Cable Montgomery Comcast and RCN Channel 6 and Verizon FiOS Channel 30.
