Take the Garlic Mustard Challenge!!
Join us on April 23rd and 26th to battle an alien invader. We'll tug, pull, yank, and pluck, doing whatever's necessary to perfect our technique and get that bothersome plant out of our forests! The results of our labor? A habitat well on its way to restoration, calories burned, a chance to win prizes, and a sample of garlic mustard pesto. A
grand prize will be awarded to the person or group who pulled the most weeds (by weight).

Spring is Springing
Woodfrogs and spring peepers have let us know that spring is here by singing and laying eggs in our ponds and pools. The hellebores and snowdrops are blooming, birds are singing their spring mating songs, and bats are making brief forays on warmer nights. Visit the nature center to watch the season spring into action, or take in one of our spring-themed programs.
How trees become bears!
Two massive oak trees that fell in front of the nature center sat untouched and hidden by abundant overgrowth. Rather than send the rare resource to the landfill or mulch piles as wood chips, we decided to incorporate the trunks into a nature exploration area for young children. Please visit our new sculptures and watch our exploration area begin to take shape.
