The Montgomery County Department of Parks employs hundreds of seasonal employees annually to meet the needs of parks visitors and help manage and protect park resources. While seasonal positions are available in a range of career fields, most jobs available are in the following general categories:
Landscaping and Horticulture Workers
Maintenance work is vital to the safe and efficient operation of our parks. Throughout the county, seasonal employees help maintain athletic fields, trails and visitor facilities, and may be actively engaged in a variety of landscaping activities including planting and pruning flowers, shrubs and trees, and growing turf.
Front Desk and Concession Attendants
We are looking for highly motivated, customer service-oriented people to be our front-line representatives at a number of our facilities including public gardens, ice skating rinks s, tennis centers, miniature trains, visitor centers, and other fun places. You will be accepting class registrations, admission fees and assisting with special events and programs,, using your sales skills at the skating pro shops or snack areas, providing answers to visitor questions, distributing maps and brochures, providing directions or other information on a variety of park facilities and programs, and performing other general clerical duties as assigned. Facilities are open 7 days per week and hours are flexible.
