Historic Property Plaques
If your property is listed as an individual historic site on the Montgomery County Master Plan for Historic Preservation or if you live within a recognized historic district within Montgomery County, you may be eligible to purchase a Montgomery County historic property plaque for your home.

Maryland Historical Trust
The Maryland Historical Trust website features a searchable inventory of historic sites, including properties in Montgomery County. The website also offers instructions and an application
form for nominating standing structures to the Maryland Inventory of Historic Properties.
Places from the Past
The Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission has published a book that inventories historic sites and districts in Montgomery County. Places from the Past: The Tradition of Gardez Bien in Montgomery County, Maryland is beautifully illustrated with photographs, architectural drawings and maps.
