Community Gardens Coming Soon

With Councilmember Valerie Ervin’s office, we’re exploring starting a new community garden in Montgomery Parks this spring at Sligo Mill Overlook. For an annual fee, area residents will be able to use the garden to grow vegetables, herbs and flowers, beautify the neighborhood, form friendships with and learn from other community gardeners and more.  As the program grows and neighbors come together, Montgomery Parks may open more public spaces to community gardens each year.  In the meantime, share your thoughts on this proposed pilot site by calling our Community Gardens Information Line at 301-650-2635 or email us.

Elm Street Urban Park Closed for Renovations

Elm Street Urban Park, 4600 Elm Street in Bethesda, is closed for renovations until approximately July 1, 2009. The park renovations include new paved trails, seating areas, landscaping and some lighting enhancements.

July 4th Mini-Golf Splash-a-Thon
at South Germantown

Next Flea Market in the Park

NEW HOURS! 9am-2pm

The first Flea Market in the Park was a smashing success, with more than 50 vendors and hundreds of savvy shoppers in attendance. Join us at Wheaton Outdoor Rink (just down the hill from Wheaton Ice Arena, next to the dog park)-- it's the hot new place in Montgomery County to buy and sell treasures old and new! Upcoming dates are Saturday July 11, Saturday, August 8, and Saturday, September 12, from 9am to 2pm (new hours!). Vendor spaces are just $20; admission for shoppers is free. Get more info here...

Parent-Child Dances at Seneca Lodge

Friday, July 17 & August 21, 7:30-9:30pm

Give your little princess a day of fairytale fun! The Princess Galas scheduled for July 12 and August 8 sold out quickly, so we've added an additionaldate just for you on Sunday, August 23, from 2-3:30pm.
