Situated along Rock Creek in Derwood, Maryland, the Agricultural History Farm Park is a 410-acre complex with a farmhouse, barn, assorted farm buildings and an activity center. 70 acres of the farm has been set aside to depict historic life on the farm. The Farm Park hosts seasonal festivals depicting farm life, both past and present.

Today the Farm Park hosts seasonal festivals depicting farm life both past and present. Other programs are scheduled by Meadowside Nature Center and the Friends of the Agricultural History Farm park throughout the year.

Tree Farm Trail Detour - 18 June, 2008. Trail users visiting the Agricultural History Farm Park trails should use caution when using the Tree Farm Trail.  A temporary detour has been established due to construction work along Airpark Road and is clearly marked. For more information, call the Park Manager at (301)-948-5053.

Location

The Farm Park is located at 18400 Muncaster Rd. Derwood, MD, just north of Muncaster Mill Road and east of the Montgomery County Airpark.

Trail length/surface

There are 4.7 miles of Natural Surface trails winding throughout the Farm Park and its adjacent fields.

Trail characteristics

The trails within the Farm Park all natural surface and take you on a tour of the surrounding fields and countryside. The Percheron trail continues south under Airpark Road to the Pope Farm Nursery where a wide variety of trees, shrubs, and ornamental plants are grown for Montgomery County's 30,000-acre park system.

Access and parking

An asphalt parking lot is located to the left of the activity center. Horse trailer parking is located adjacent to the asphalt lot.
