Description:
Montgomery
County Council has appointed a task force of community
members. The task force issued its final report in
May of 2005. The report addresses revitalization of
commercial and residential areas in the Long Branch
neighborhood. The task force also addressed needs
for safety and youth. The efforts of the task force
will continue to be promoted through the Long Branch
Advisory Committee to be appointed by the County Executive
and confirmed by the County Council.
The
time frame of the Long Branch Task Force project was
three years from September 2002. The boundaries include
I-495, Northwest Branch, the Prince George's County
line, Carroll Ave., Sligo Creek Parkway, Caroline
Ave., Franklin Ave., and Colesville Rd.
